2007 LEAD International Training Session (ITS) for Cohort XII
|
LEAD Indonesia/YPB is entrusted with responsibility as the host for the 2007 LEAD International Training
Session (ITS) for Cohort XII of LEAD Associate Training (LAT). The event is going to be held in Bali,
Indonesia. It will focus on energy and climate change.

LEAD International Supports ASA
|
LEAD Indonesia's proposal "Developing Sustainability Assessment and Reporting for Corporate Sector", has been approved
by LEAD International for funding. The fund is from its "2006 Special Opportunities and Investment Fund". The program
was proposed based on a new demand from the private sector to have assistance in developing sustainability report
based on intelligible and measurable sustainable indicators.

AA Gym Endorsed the Earth Charter
|

AA Gym has endorsed the Earth Charter with an initiation to apply the principles into daily life and conduct activities promoting
the Earth Charter mission and principles. The endorsement took place on June 2006, marked by AA Gym signed the Endorsement Paper.

LEAD International Skill Modules Training
of Trainer in Bolzano, Italy
Training of Trainer (TOT) for skill modules of LEAD International, which was preceded by
asynchronous internet sessions has been accomplished by Chatarina Any Sulistyowati (Cohort 7) and Wiwien T.
Wiyonoputri (Cohort 8) together with other 18 LEAD Fellows and staffs, in Bolzano, Italy on 4 - 9 June 2006.

Bridging Leadership in Aceh
With the support from CIDA, YPB will start its program "Bridging Leadership"
in Aceh with the training on sustainable development and leadership on the first weeks of September
2006. This program consists of in-class training, internship and facilitation for the process

of formulating a collaborative management, and will be attended by about 30 young individuals of Aceh.

Three Programs in Buleleng, Bali
Three projects have been completed by LEAD Indonesia during June-
July 2006 in four partner villages of Buleleng district, Bali with the support from
Darwin Initiative. The three projects are Training for the Trainers "Towards Sustainable Coastal Resource

Management", assessment on opportunities of policy reform for coastal resource management, and assessment on opportunities
for SME (Small Medium Enterprise).

Aids for the Earthquake
Survivors.
LEAD Indonesia Network raised some funds to aid the earthquake survivors
in D.I. Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas, last May 2006. The Network has collected a total
of Rp8,400,000 from its members, which was used to buy various supplies needed. Some LEAD Fellows
teamed up to accomplish the aid.

Book Review and Discussion.
David Bornstein's book "How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New
Ideas" (Oxford University Press, 2004) was the book reviewed and

discussed by Book Discussion Club BDN 235 on Juli 2006. The book is for general audience, describes the meaning of social entrepreneurship by documenting efforts
of social activists from all over the world. Maria Hartiningsih and Marco Kusumawijaya had contributed as the
speakers of the book club event.
