YPB Endeavors
News from Fellows

Dear readers,

Year 2008 is almost over. Many we have accomplished and still many more to pursue. Among our accomplishments for the year, YPB has hosted 2 seminars, conducted 12 workshops, published 4 case studies and 1 short film, and participated in an array of international events and a local exhibition.

We would like to thank for the generous contributions and supports from the donor agencies and other parties that have tremendously helped YPB programs running well: LEAD International, British Embassy, Darwin Initiative, PT Pertamina and PT Jaya Ancol that contributed for the LEAD International Session "Mega-cities and Climate Change" in Mexico, November 2008, and Schroder Foundation. Also for PT Indonesia Power which helped with the printing of the case studies regarding Energy and Climate Change, contributed to the film making, capacity building and public awareness of eco fish-a project of ornamental fish caught in eco friendly method, without using cyanide.

Their commitment to helping promoting sustainable development in our community is sincerely appreciated. We have seen more and more people, institutions and businesses participated in our programs and changed for the better. The goal is to continue to make a difference in development issues. With the help of donations, contributions and sponsorships from supporters and/or donor agencies we will continue to see improvements regarding sustainable development.

Our great appreciation also for Mr. Kemal Taruc, for his tremendous assistance both for the national as well as international LEAD sessions on sustainable cities, as the coach as well as facilitator, and guardian for LEAD Indonesia delegates in the Mexico session.

Our gratitude to all LEAD Fellows and other parties who have helped us throughout the year for various programs and occasions. Their continuing supports ensure that YPB to accomplish its mission promoting sustainable development. We have a long way to go.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

Best Regards

The first task of a leader is to keep hope alive.
