LEAD Associate Training (LAT)

LEAD Associate Training (LAT is) one of the core activities of LEAD Indonesia. It has been conducting since 1992 with other 11 LEAD Office network around the globe (in Africa, Europe, Canada and Asia). In Asia there are China, Japan, Pakistan, India and LEAD Indonesia Office. LAT facilitates collective knowledge, sharing expertise and experience from all mid professionals who come from different backgrounds and expertise (government agencies, private sector, academic institutions, NGOs and mass media). On regular basis, LEAD Indonesia recruits LEAD Associate to join LAT to build the understanding on the importance of leadership for sustainable development, and to adapt sustainable development in the respective organization of LAT participants. As the participants completed the training they become LEAD Fellows. In 2007 there are more than 1800 LEAD Fellows from 90 countries represent all sectors, and it becomes a global network.

The training is conducted in three sessions: national, regional (optional) and international (optional). It consists of three approaches: bridging diversity multi-stakeholders dialog, LEAD Associate Project (LAP) or cohort document, and individual road map. The theme of LAT is different each year within the scope of sustainable development paradigm. In 2007 the theme was Leadership for Climate Change, while in 2006 "Corporate Social Responsibility for Sustainable Development" was the theme of the year. On year 2008 the theme for cohort 13 is "Toward Sustainable Cities: Investment in Our Future Leaders as the Agents of Change".

In 2008, LEAD Indonesia receives GBP 10,000 from LEAD International to support LAT cohort 13 on national sessions. The National Training Session (NTS) Cohort 13 has begun in late April 2008 that includes 20 days face-to-face training days, organized in four sessions over a span of 7 months up to September 2008, and supported by distance learning for selected sessions. The Regional Training Session (RTS) may be conducted within the duration of NTS or after the completion of NTS, while International Training Session will be conducted following the completion of the National Training in Mexico, in the coming November 2008, where all selected participants from other countries join the International Training Session for a week.
