Dear Readers,
This newsletter presents progress up to first week of December 2006. We tried to put the latest up at the last minute, and thanks to all the contributors who have made this newsletter rich with progress stories about YPB/LEAD Indonesia programs.
It is the end of the year again! Time flies so fast, and we are at YPB/LEAD Indonesia office once again embark upon the hectic months of preparing and organizing the LEAD Associate Training for Cohort XII, which is to start on February 2007. Deadline for this special training is extended to 15 January 2007. So hurry up register now!.
Last but not least, we would like to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS, may the spirit of Christmas be with you all this year; and a Healthy Happy New Year 2007.

LEAD Associate Training of Cohort XII
|
LEAD Associate Training (LAT) by LEAD Indonesia for Cohort XII will be launched in February 2007 with the topics of Energy and Climate Change in the context of sustainable development. The National training will be held in Jakarta, and it's registration is extended to 15 January 2007. The regional in China, and the international in Indonesia. Participants are young leaders from various sectors. Sponsorships are welcomed for the national as well as international sessions. [more]

Forum and Workshops "Sustainability of The Planet" in Stockholm, 3 - 4 October 2006
Participants from various sectors discussed key topics of sustainability in the Forum and Workshops organized by The Swedish Industry Association - Sinf Environment and Quality "Sustainability of The Planet - issues, incentives and tools on sustainability in the supply chain" in Stockholm, Sweden, 3rd and 4th October 2006. Sponsored by the Swedish International Development Aid (the government of Sweden), Darwina Widjajanti (Executive Director of YPB) and Maria D. The First Seminar on "ISO 26000: Social Responsibility" in Indonesia

In the first seminar of ISO 26000, at Manggala Wanabakti on November 23rd, 2006, the keynote speaker was Prof. Emil Salim, the Chair of YPB's Board of Trustees. In his speech, Prof. Emil Salim stated that Indonesia ought not to feel threatened by the coming ISO 26000. Indonesia, supported by BSN, is expected to be actively involve in the formulation of ISO 26000. [more]

CIDA supported program "Bridging Leadership: Strengthening the Capacity of Young Potential Leaders of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam" advanced to its second training in November 2006 in Takengon, Aceh

Tengah, with the topic of Sustainable Development Paradigm. Speakers for this training included Ismail Wahab from Takengon Bappedalda and Yanis Rinaldi, Chair of Environment Affairs office of Aceh Tengah. The project's goal is to strengthen young leaders from various sectors with the understanding on the importance of sustainable development, leadership visioning and skills, and with the capacity to work in a collaborative scheme.
